Christopher Chaney, a 35 year old man from Jacksonville Florida, has admitted in a TV interview to hacking the email accounts of celebrities. Chaney stated that “It started as curiosity and it turned into just being addicted to seeing behind the scenes of what was going on with these people you see on the big screen every day”. Chaney also stated that he did not sell or make money from any of the hacked information.

Chaney gave an exclusive interview to Fox30 news in Jacksonville, Florida. Click here to watch the full length video of the Chaney interview.

Chaney was the man responsible for the leaked nude photos of Scarlet Johansson, which were obtained by Chaney trough hacking into Johannson’s email account. The nude photos have spread wildly throughout the internet, with Johansson claiming the photo leak is “wrong”.

According to the F.B.I., Christopher Chaney is responsible for the hacking of over 50 celebrity email and personal accounts. Mila Kunis, Renee Olstead and Christina Aguilara are just a few of the top stars that were hacked by Chaney. Authorities are still investigating whether Chaney acted alone or had accomplices, as well as if there are other unknown victims.

The interesting twist to this scandal is the claim by Chaney that the hacking was an “addiction” and that he could not stop himself. He claims that he never intended to sell or make money from the photos, and even turned down financial offers from third parties. According to Chaney “I was relieved months ago when they came in and took my computer because I didn’t know how to stop.”

Chaney is currently released on $10,000 bail while awaiting trial. He has not entered a plea to the charges filed against him.
