Immediately upon infection the Smart HDD program will appear. At first most users do not realize that this is a fake program. The GUI looks real and the computer does seem to have the issues that the bogus program states. Unfortunately though it is all a charade, a well orchestrated social engineering tactic used by cyber criminals.
Becoming infected with the Smart HDD Virus can happen in many different ways. The majority of the time computer users do not even realize that they have unknowingly downloaded the virus. This particular type of virus is spread through the use of a infectious file, that when downloaded, immediately infects your computer with Smart HDD.
The cyber criminals who created this bogus repair program did not simply create a realistic looking GUI. They also wanted to make sure that your computer seemed in need of repair.
